National Trust of Trinidad and Tobago Internship Programme
June 30, 2025

This July/August, the National Trust’s Internship Programme brings together innovation, research, and environmental action through a six-week initiative at the Carenage Fishing Centre and Nelson Island.

Our interns are tackling pollution head-on by applying the scientific method of pyrolysis — transforming waste into practical, eco-friendly products like biochar for water filtration and pyroligneous acid as a natural mosquito repellent.

This programme bridges classroom learning with real-world environmental solutions — and we couldn’t be prouder of the young people leading the charge.

Meet our interns and follow their journey as they help preserve our natural and built heritage for generations to come.
