Event Details

Every year on 18 April, ICOMOS ( International Council on Monuments and Sites) celebrates the International Day for Monuments and Sites.

In 2018, the theme is Heritage for Generations. Sharing stories and the transfer of knowledge between generations is a crucial step in cultural development, characterising the human experience since time immemorial.

This year the National Trust of Trinidad and Tobago would like to focus on the History of Fretwork.

We are pleased to present a two part public lecture on Fretwork, its origins, who brought it here, styles found in Trinidad, how it is made, tools used to make it and influences in design as well as modern Fretwork and its place in society today. This lecture will take place on the 18th April 2018 at 5:30PM at a venue to be announced in Port-of-Spain.

Featured Speakers:
Rudylynn Roberts – ICOMOS TT President.
Marcus Skinner – Managing Director, Fretworks TT.

Get up close with Fretwork and learn more about its role and function. Stay tuned for more details!
