Event Details

The National Trust in collaboration with the Australian High Commission wants to invite you to view documentary film The Last Goldfish, by Australian film-maker Su Goldfish, who will also be in attendance and participate in a panel discussion following the film.

The film documents Su’s search for her lost family and identity, and reveals the impact of war and displacement across generations. Su’s father and mother fled pre-World War II Germany, and found refuge in the only place that would welcome them: Trinidad and Tobago. Su was born in Trinidad, and loved her childhood there, before the Goldfish family moved to Australia in the 1970s.

Su never knew about her father’s history and the family and life he was forced to leave behind. But: “Can you ever leave your past behind?”
