The Guiding Lights of Heritage Illuminates Mille Fleurs
October 21, 2025

Port of Spain, Trinidad (October 18, 2025) — The National Trust of Trinidad and Tobago extends heartfelt thanks to all who joined us at Mille Fleurs Heritage House on Friday 17th October 2025 for The Guiding Lights of Heritage — a radiant celebration of Diwali that brought together culture, community, and the beauty of our shared heritage.

From the soft glow of hundreds of deeyas to the stirring rhythms of tabla and the grace of classical Indian dance, the evening truly reflected the festival’s message of light triumphing over darkness. Guests enjoyed guided tours of the Mille Fleurs Heritage House, visited the vibrant Decorate a Deeya exhibition, and immersed themselves in captivating performances.

The highlight of the evening was a breathtaking Indian Wear Fashion Show featuring elegant ensembles provided by House of Jaipur, followed by enchanting performances by the Mahatma Gandhi Institute for Cultural Co-operation. The event also showcased the vibrant artistry of Tessa Alexander, whose five featured pieces added depth and creativity to the evening’s exhibition.

The National Trust also expresses deep appreciation to our valued supporters — Vasha Foods, Brand Source, House of Jaipur, SM Jaleel and Coca Cola— whose generous contributions made this celebration possible. Their partnership exemplifies the strength of collaboration in preserving and promoting Trinidad and Tobago’s cultural heritage.

The Trust extends sincere gratitude to all attendees, partners, and performers who helped make The Guiding Lights of Heritage a success. Together, we continue to safeguard not only our nation’s historic sites but also the cultural traditions that bring them to life.
