Plight of the Ibis: Premiere Screening and Reception – October 2026

Join us for an evening of film and natural heritage at the premiere screening and reception of Plight of the Ibis, a documentary exploring the Scarlet Ibis and the Caroni Swamp mangrove wetlands.

Written and produced by Gideon Hanoomansingh, the documentary is presented in collaboration with the National Trust of Trinidad and Tobago and the Unit Trust Corporation. It invites audiences to reflect on the importance of safeguarding the wildlife and landscapes that form part of our shared heritage.

The documentary features Dr. Rahanna Juman, Dr. Ryan S. Mohammed, Hamish Asmath, Laura Baboolal and Miss Wendy Fitzwilliam.
Set within the historic surroundings of Mille Fleurs Heritage House, this premiere offers an opportunity to come together in appreciation of our natural environment and the stories that bring it into focus.
