Please join us on Wednesday 28th April 2021 for a lecture called POWER facilitated by Mr. Chike Pilgrim.
This is to commemorate the 51st Anniversary of the Black Power Revolution.
A Message From Chike:
The year 2021 marks the 51st Anniversary of the Black Power Revolution of Trinidad and Tobago, in the Caribbean. In never before recorded interviews, POWER shares the voices of this multi-dimensional movement. See Black Power like never before in the stories of those directly involved in the major events of that time. These interviews show different sides of a struggle that had a range of leaders, visions, and interests. While these interviews were deeply concerned with political and economic factors, this particular presentation will focus on an often-overlooked aspect of the movement: it’s social impact. This means that we will briefly explore the actual personal lives of the interviewees and the people they knew, and how their humour, their anger, their sorrows, and their joys found expression during this period.
I’m excited to share these rich stories through Trinidad and Tobago’s own unique method of story telling and in the voice of our own dialect. Join us!
THE NATIONAL TRUST is inviting you to a scheduled Zoom lecture.
