Richmond Great House

This stately old plantation house is the old great estate house in Tobago. It was built in the eighteenth century and has been renovated. In its history, it has suffered little damage from hurricanes.

Special efforts were made to maintain many of the beautiful aspects of the old building which has always maintained a traditional elegance with its wooden floors, high ceilings and period furniture.

Owned until 1973 by a succession of English families, it is now owned by a Tobago-born professor of African History at Columbia University, New York.
