Conducting Heritage Research at the National Library

Train cleanup and beautification at the Divali Naggar Site

In October 2019 the 4th Tunapuna Scout Group embarked on a journey with the National Trust of Trinidad and Tobago. The members of the scout group set out to work for a brand-new badge called the National Heritage Badge.

With the expert guidance from Mr Joseph Bertrand we were able to plan and execute over 12 different activities that ultimately exposed the members of the scout group to different aspects of Trinidad and Tobago’s heritage. From library visits, poster presentations, walking tours, to site restorations, these activities were eye-opening for both the children and the leaders. It is amazing how many things we take for granted in Trinidad and Tobago and now the members of the scout section have a chance to take that knowledge and the experiences and pass it on to others.
