Event Details

Timeline: The History of Trinidad and Tobago Lecture Series will be taking place every Wednesday in November. The time periods that will be focused on are: Pre-Columbian History, Spanish Colonial Trinidad, Trinidad’s French Legacy, Enslavement and Emancipation and The Period of Indentureship.

The first of the series will be given by Dr Christian Cwik, an Austrian historian specialised on Atlantic, Caribbean and Latin American History. He finished his degrees in history and philosophy M. Phil (1996) and Ph.D. (2000) at the University of Vienna where he started as lecturer for Caribbean and Latin American History in 1999.

The title of his lecture is Trinidad and Tobago as an intersection of indigenous movement between South America and the Antilles.

The lecture will be taking place at the Old Fire Station at NALIS, from 5pm-8pm.
