Event Details

Carnival and the Carnival Culture is part of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Trinidad and Tobago.

During the Carnival Season, the National Trust of Trinidad and Tobago will present a series of lectures to the public entitled the History and Heritage of Trinidad Carnival.

The second of this four-part lecture series is on The History of Mas.

Dr. Kevin Browne will present on Carnival and the Imaging of Emancipatory Practice, followed by a question and answer / discussion period.

Admission will be $20TTD, and parking will be provided at the Trinity Cathedral Carpark (Abercromby Street Entrance)

 

Dr. Kevin Browne will be reading excerpts from his book Between Still Life and Afterlife: Mas, Photography, and the Self.
