VIDEO PRODUCTION SERVICES

The National Trust of Trinidad and Tobago (The Trust)  invites prospective vendors to submit proposals to shoot, edit and complete video content for public awareness.
Proposals must be submitted in accordance with the conditions outlined in this Tender

SUMMARY

The Trust wants to produce a video showcasing technology and techniques for measuring a site’s vulnerability to the impact of climate change, particularly flooding, the processes for stakeholder engagement and the development of mitigation strategies. The successful organisation will have access to capture field work, conferences, training sessions, focus groups and presentations of findings and will be expected to apply the best practices in video production to create a short documentary that demonstrates a level of cinematic creativity to make complex issues of climate change and heritage conservation, interesting and relatable to ordinary citizens.

Scope of Works

The video production company will be required to shoot, edit and complete video content over a 6-month period commencing November 14th, involving day-time field work in and around Port of Spain and off-shore Carenage and will include a combination of interviewing and action-oriented video recordings. Visuals of instances of flooding particularly showing City Gate/PTSC should also be included.

The full length of the final video is 3- 5 minutes with accompanying shorter promotional features suitable for both TV broadcast and digital social media distribution platforms.

Feature Project

“Keeping History above Water” is a campaign to safeguard historically important national heritage buildings, monuments and cultural landscapes, against climate change where for example, sea levels are projected to rise between 37.74 cm (approximately 14.5 inches) at the lowest predictions and 43.15 cm (17 inches) at the highest over the next three decades. Using the best available technology and heritage conservation best practices, this project is the benchmark for Trinidad and Tobago to assess the vulnerability of coastal heritage spaces and by extension the residential and commercial communities that envelop them. In the process it seeks to create a platform for community involvement and activism for sustainable and equitable policies and safeguards to mitigate the adverse impacts of climate change and sea-level rise, now seen as an inescapable feature of our future.

Other than the interview requirement to incorporate designated stakeholders, the Video production service provider will have creative freedom to employ the most appropriate and compelling visual story telling methods suitable for a broad audience.

The Trust and its collaborators will provide support in the form of boat transport for visits to off-shore sites, research material for scripting, permissions for access to designated events and locations,  permissions for recording of designated individuals and where necessary access to pre-record videos or archival photos.
