Growing Up Woodbrook

Growing Up Woodbrook

Growing up Woodbrook – A Tapestry of Then and Now: An Amazing Square Mile in History is a captivating Trinbagonian story of change and transformation. The voices of residents past and present weave together with archival material and anthropological insights to describe the development of a beloved space and place.

Woodbrook has existed on the page and in the literary imagination for as long as I have been reading and writing about Caribbean literature. Yet there was so much about this place where I grew up that I did not know before I read Growing Up Woodbrook.”
Prof. Rhonda Cobham-Sander – author and Emily C. Jordan Folger Professor of English and Black Studies, Amherst College, Massachusetts.

…If one wished to experience a particular aspect or element of our mosaic, Hosay or Ramleela or Shango, you could go to a particular place on one or other island to do so. But if you wanted one place which encapsulates what our harmonious diversity looks and feels like, you would probably go to Woodbrook!
